- Confirmed the customer's complaint and found obvious signs of damage from engine area. Connected a scan tool and found code P0305 – Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected. Inspected the ignition system and the air intake system and found that the spark plug had blown out of cylinder # 5 causing obvious damage to the ignition coil. Inspected cylinder number five and found clear indication of stripped thread where the spark plug sits. These test results verified ignition coil #5 and spark plug #5 need to be replaced as well as cylinder #5 thread is faulty.
- REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. RETHREAD AND REPAIR DAMAGED CYLINDER #5. INSTALL NEW SPARK PLUG AND NEW DIRECT IGNITION COIL. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.
