- VEHICLE SERVICE: – CHANGE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER – TIRE INFLATION CHECK – BRAKE COMPONENT INSPECTION – ALL FLUID LEVEL CHECK – RESET MAINTENCE COUNTER
- Confirmed the customer's complaint and verified the air conditioning (A/C) was inoperative. Connected an air conditioning manifold gauge set to the A/C system service ports, performed an A/C system performance test and observed the A/C pressure readings were lower than specifications. Added A/C leak detection dye to the A/C system, started the vehicle, and allowed the A/C system to stabilize. Performed a visual inspection of the A/C system to check for leaks and found no leaks were present. It is possible that there is a small leak in the system, which we were unable to locate at this time. The refrigerant level was found to be about halfway depleted. As a first step, we recommend performing a complete vacuum recovery and recharge of the A/C system to address the issue. – Customer acknowledged notice and gave oral approval of estimated repairs. PERFORM A COMPLETE VACUUM AND RECHARGE OF THE A/C SYSTEM. FIRST, EVACUATE ANY EXISTING REFRIGERANT, THEN PERFORM A VACUUM TEST TO IDENTIFY ANY POSSIBLE LEAKS. ONCE THE SYSTEM IS CLEARED, RECHARGE IT WITH THE PROPER AMOUNT OF REFRIGERANT AND ENSURE ALL LEVELS ARE CORRECT. TEST THE A/C SYSTEM TO VERIFY THAT IT IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AND COOLING EFFECTIVELY.
- REMOVE AND REPLACE CABIN AIR FILTER. REMOVE AND REPLACE ENGINE AIR FILTER. CLEAN AIR FILTER HOUSING AND AIR INTAKE HOSE. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS.
