Services Performed
- Inspected the battery connectors and found that one of the clamps was loose. Replaced the clamp and retested the charging system. Upon testing, we found that the alternator is overcharging at 15.4 volts (normal range: 13–14 volts). Based on these findings, we determined that the alternator is defective and should be replaced under warranty.
- Removed and replaced the defective alternator under warranty. Performed a charging system test after installation to ensure proper operation and voltage output.
- REMOVED NECESSARY COMPONENTS TO GAIN ACCESS TO ALL CYLINDERS. REMOVED AND REPLACED ALL SIX SPARK PLUGS, AS WELL AS THE THREE IGNITION COILS LOCATED BENEATH THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THESE THREE COILS WERE REPLACED PROACTIVELY TO AVOID HAVING TO REMOVE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AGAIN IN THE FUTURE IN THE EVENT OF A MISFIRE. THE REMAINING THREE IGNITION COILS, WHICH ARE EASILY ACCESSIBLE, WERE LEFT IN PLACE, AS THEY CAN BE REPLACED WITHOUT MAJOR DISASSEMBLY IF THEY FAIL LATER. REASSEMBLED ALL REMOVED COMPONENTS, MADE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS, AND TESTED ALL AFFECTED AREAS TO ENSURE PROPER OPERATION.
