- Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the brake lights were inoperative. Performed an inspection of the brake light fuse, wiring, and connections, but found no faults. Performed an inspection of the brake light bulbs, and found no faults. Used a multi-meter, checked for continuity across the brake light switch contacts with the brake pedal depressed, and found there was no continuity, which indicated the brake light switch was faulty.
- REMOVE AND REPLACE DEFECTIVE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. AFTER INSTALLATION, VERIFY THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE AND TURN OFF PROPERLY, AND CONFIRM THAT THE SWITCH IS FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY WITHIN THE VEHICLE’S ELECTRICAL AND SAFETY SYSTEMS.
