- Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the engine did not crank. Inspected the ignition system and the air intake system, but found no concerns. Used a multi-meter to check the battery state of charge and found the measured battery voltage was below specifications. Used a battery charger to charge the battery and used a battery conductance tester to test the battery. The battery was able to conduct the specified amount of current, which indicated the battery operated properly. Used the multi-meter to monitor the charging system voltage with the engine at idle and found the charging system voltage was below specifications. These test results verified the alternator was faulty.
- MAKE SURE ALL WIRES ARE INSERTED INTO PROPER CAVITIES. RE-ASSEMBLE BACK TOGETHER. CONNECT BATTERY. MAKE SURE ALL OTHER WIRES ARE HARNESSED PROPERLY. TEST ALL AFFECTED SYSTEM.
