  • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the engine lacked power. Used a multi-meter to measure the voltage across the battery terminals and found the measured voltage was below the specified range. Charged the battery and continued the diagnosis. Used a battery conductance tester to test the battery and found the battery was unable to conduct the specified amount of current, which verified the battery was defective.

  • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the battery light was on. Inspected the ignition system and the air intake system, but found no concerns. Used a multi-meter to check the battery state of charge and found the measured battery voltage was below specifications. Used a battery charger to charge the battery and used a battery conductance tester to test the battery. The battery was able to conduct the specified amount of current, which indicated the battery operated properly. Used the multi-meter to monitor the charging system voltage with the engine at idle and found the charging system voltage was below specifications. These test results verified the alternator was faulty. Confirmed the customer's complaint and heard an unusual noise from the engine. Found the noise became louder as engine speed was increased. Engine idling, used an electronic stethoscope to confirm the noise was coming from inside the timing belt cover. Removed the drive belts and timing belt cover. Started the engine and used the electronic stethoscope to isolate the noise to the engine water pump.
  • DRAIN COOLANT. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE WATER PUMP AND WATER PUMP GASKET. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS.
  • MAKE SURE ALL WIRES ARE INSERTED INTO PROPER CAVITIES. RE-ASSEMBLE BACK TOGETHER. CONNECT BATTERY. MAKE SURE ALL OTHER WIRES ARE HARNESSED PROPERLY. TEST ALL AFFECTED SYSTEM.

  • REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AXLE ASSEMBLY COMPONENTS AND WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE OTHER END OF THE BROKEN SENSOR INSIDE. THIS WAS THE ONLY WAY TO EXTRACT THE PLASTIC PIECE. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS.
  • Connected a scan tool and found code: C0200 – Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction. Connected a Scan tool to the DLC3 connector and test drove the vehicle while observing the graph data from the R/F wheel speed sensor. There was no data output from the sensor. Used a handheld multi-meter and checked for power at the #2 terminal at the sensor. There was none. Unplugged the sensor and tested the wiring harness from the sensor to the skid control ECU and found that the resistance was infinite. There was an open in the wiring harness. Physically examined the wire harness and found that it was damaged in a few places, possibly from rodents. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE ABS SPEED SENSOR WIRING HARNESS. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. RSET ECU, TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.

  • Connected a scan tool and found code P0171 – System Too Lean (Bank 1). At idle, used the scan tool to monitor live data and found the mass airflow sensor signal parameter was erratic. Inspected the air intake system and found no obvious faults. Performed a visual inspection of the mass airflow sensor and found no obvious faults. At idle, backprobed the mass airflow sensor and monitored the sensor signal on a lab scope. The mass airflow sensor signal observed on the lab scope was erratic. With the key on, engine off, used a multi-meter to check for the presence of voltage and ground at the mass airflow sensor and found both were present. Removed the mass airflow sensor and upon visual inspection found no signs of debris on the sensing element. These test results verified the mass airflow sensor was faulty. Inspected the throttle body and found the throttle body was coated in debris.
  • REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. REMOVE AND CLEAN THROTTLE BODY. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS.

  • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the air conditioning was inoperative. Performed a visual inspection of the air conditioning system and found no obvious faults. Connected an air conditioning manifold gauge set to the air conditioning test ports and found the air conditioning system had no pressure. The lack of pressure indicated a refrigerant leak was present in the system. Visually inspected the air conditioning system and found no obvious signs of a refrigerant leak. Pressurized the air conditioning system with a fluorescent dye and used an ultraviolet light to check for the presence of a leak. Inspected the air conditioning system and found an air conditioning discharge refrigerant line leaked. Inspected the air conditioning refrigerant line and found the air conditioning refrigerant line was damaged.
  • REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE WIPER BLADE MOTOR COMPONENTS, RELEASE AND MOVE RADIATOR AND CONDENSER FOR HAND ROOM. REMOVE AND INSTALL DISCHARGE LINE. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS.
  • VACUUM AND CHARGE A/C SYSTEM
  • ALUMINUM WELDING FOR A/C LINE
  • [An A/C system flush is a necessary procedure to ensure the air conditioning system is clean and free from any contaminants. Any foreign objects in the AC system can cause blockages and prevent the compressor from operating efficiently. Even the smallest amount of foreign debris in the system can restrict the flow of refrigerant and oil.]

  • Connected a scan tool and found code P0A80 – Replace Hybrid Battery Pack. Using the scan tool, viewed live data and inspected the voltage of each of the high voltage battery cells and found that one battery block was 2 volts lower than the battery blocks. The maximum allowable voltage difference among battery blocks is 300 millivolts, which is what caused this diagnostic trouble code to set. Removed the trunk interior and verified the high voltage battery fan was operating properly and was not plugged. These test results indicated there was a faulty battery block within the high voltage battery, and the high voltage battery would need to be replaced as an entire unit to correct this concern.
  • DURING REPLACEMENT WE CLEANED HYBRID BATTERY FAN AND FILTER.
