- Connected a scan tool and found codes: P0720 – Output Speed Sensor Circuit and P0722 – Output Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal. Performed a visual inspection of the transmission output shaft speed sensor wiring harness and found no obvious faults. Accessed the powertrain control module (PCM), unplugged the connectors and measured the resistance of the transmission output shaft speed sensor across the pins of the PCM connector. Found the measured resistance was not within specifications. Disconnected the transmission output shaft speed sensor and connected a test light across the sensor connector. Supplied power and ground to the transmission output shaft speed sensor terminals and found the test light illuminated. Performed a wiggle test on the transmission output shaft speed sensor wiring harness and found the test light remained illuminated. This indicated the transmission output shaft speed sensor was faulty. – Customer acknowledged notice and gave oral approval of estimated repairs. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.
