Services Performed
- Connected a scan tool and found code P0335 – Crankshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit. Used the scan tool to monitor live data while cranking the engine and found the crankshaft position sensor parameter was erratic. Inspected the crankshaft position sensor wiring harness and connector, but found no concerns. Used the scan tool to monitor the crankshaft position sensor parameter while the crankshaft position sensor wiring harness was wiggled and found the sensor parameter did not change. Backprobed the crankshaft position sensor, cranked the engine, monitored the crankshaft position sensor signal on a lab scope and found the sensor signal observed on the lab scope intermittently dropped out. These test results verified the crankshaft position sensor was faulty.
- REMOVE AND REPLACE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. THIS SERVICE INCLUDES SAFELY LIFTING THE VEHICLE, DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL, AND REMOVING ANY COMPONENTS NECESSARY TO ACCESS THE SENSOR. THE OLD SENSOR WILL BE REMOVED, AND A NEW OEM-QUALITY SENSOR WILL BE INSTALLED TO ENSURE ACCURATE ENGINE TIMING AND PERFORMANCE. ALL CONNECTIONS WILL BE SECURED, AND THE VEHICLE WILL BE TESTED TO CONFIRM PROPER START-UP, IDLE, AND OPERATION WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT PRESENT.
