- Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the engine idled fast. Inspected the air intake system for signs of leaks and found no obvious faults. Connected a smoke machine to the air intake system, induced smoke into the system to check for leaks, and found smoke leaked from the intake manifold gasket. Removed the intake manifold and found the intake manifold gasket was damaged. The results of these tests verified the intake manifold gasket was faulty.
- REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD. REMOVE AND REPLACE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.
