- Confirmed the customer's concern and found fluid leaked from the vehicle. Performed an inspection of the engine compartment and found the valve cover gasket leaked. Inspected the brake hydraulic system for leaks, but found none. Performed an inspection of the brake friction components, but found no faults. Performed a visual inspection of the brake fluid and found the brake fluid was contaminated with moisture. The results of these tests verified the brake fluid was faulty. Also found that the cabin air filter is dirty and will need to be replaced.
- REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE VALVE COVER. REMOVE THE VALVE COVER AND REPLACE THE VALVE COVER GASKET SET. ADDITIONALLY, REPLACE THE CABIN AIR FILTER, AS IT IS LOCATED IN THE SAME AREA BENEATH THE WIPER MOTORS. REASSEMBLE ALL COMPONENTS AND MAKE ANY NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. TEST ALL AFFECTED SYSTEMS AND CHECK FOR LEAKS.
- PERFORM A COMPLETE BRAKE FLUID FLUSH TO ENSURE OPTIMAL BRAKING PERFORMANCE AND REMOVE ANY CONTAMINANTS FROM THE BRAKE SYSTEM.
