- Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the engine did not start. Inspected the ignition system and the air intake system, but found no concerns. Inspected the engine coolant level and condition and found the engine coolant level was low. Filled the engine coolant to the proper operating level and continued diagnosing the vehicle. Connected an engine coolant pressure tester to the radiator and pressurized the engine cooling system to check for leaks. Inspected the engine cooling system and did not find a leak, but the engine coolant pressure tester reading indicated a leak was present. Removed the engine coolant pressure tester from the radiator, used a gas analyzer to check for the presence of hydrocarbons at the radiator filler neck and found hydrocarbons were present. Removed the spark plugs for inspection and found the spark plugs were contaminated with engine coolant. Rand a compression test and there was no compression in the cylinders. Internal problem with this engine. Will need to have cylinder head gasket replaced or possibly the engine.
- DRAIN ALL FLUIDS. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS INT HE ENGINE BAY. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD AND SEND TO THE MACHINE SHOP. ASSEMBLE CYLINDER HEAD BACK AND INSTALL CYLINDER HEAD GASKET SET, OIL PUMP DRIVE BELT, TIMING BELT, HOSE, PLASTIC ELBOW, THERMOSTAT HOUSING WITH THERMOSTAT. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. ADD ALL FLUIDS. TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.
