Services Performed
- Confirmed the customer's complaint and found engine coolant leaked from the vehicle. Inspected the engine coolant and found the engine coolant level was low. Filled the engine coolant to the proper operating level, attached a pressure tester to the engine cooling system and pressurized the system to check for leaks. The engine cooling system did not retain the applied pressure, which indicated an engine coolant leak was present. Continued to apply pressure to the engine cooling system, inspected the system for signs of an external engine coolant leak and found the coolant bypass pipe that goes underneath the intake manifold going to the back of the water pump had leaked.
- DRAIN THE COOLING SYSTEM TO PREPARE FOR REPAIRS. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS TO GAIN FULL ACCESS TO THE COOLANT BYPASS PIPE. CAREFULLY REMOVE THE EXISTING COOLANT BYPASS PIPE AND GASKET. INSTALL A NEW COOLANT BYPASS PIPE ALONG WITH A REPLACEMENT GASKET, ENSURING PROPER FIT AND ALIGNMENT. REASSEMBLE ALL REMOVED COMPONENTS, MAKING ANY NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS TO ENSURE CORRECT INSTALLATION. REFILL THE SYSTEM WITH THE APPROPRIATE ANTIFREEZE COOLANT. PERFORM A THOROUGH INSPECTION AND TESTING OF ALL AFFECTED AREAS TO VERIFY THE REPAIR'S INTEGRITY AND CONFIRM THERE ARE NO LEAKS OR ISSUES.
