- Observed the engine coolant temperature gauge and found the engine coolant temperature exceeded allowable specifications. Inspected the cooling system and found the engine coolant was low. Topped off the cooling system, connected a cooling system pressure tester, and pressurized the cooling system. Found engine coolant leaked from under the intake manifold. Need to remove intake manifold to find out whats leaking underneath. Customer was informed that we need to go into the repair to find the problem.
- REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD. FOUND COOLANT LEAKED FROM INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET SET. REMOVE AND REPLACE UPPER AND LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET SET. ALL BOLTS WERE RUSTED AND HAD DIFFICULTY BEING REMOVED. AFTER REMOVING THE BOLTS WE HAD TO REPAIR THE THREADS AND BOLTS FOR THE INSTALLATION. REMOVE AND REPLACE COOLANT TEMP. SENSOR. ASSEMBLE EVERYTHING BACK TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. ADD ANTI-FREEZE COOLANT.
- VEHICLE SERVICE: – CHANGE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER – TIRE INFLATION CHECK – BRAKE COMPONENT INSPECTION – ALL FLUID LEVEL CHECK – RESET MAINTENCE COUNTER
