    • CUSTOMER REPORTED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUT OFF IMMEDIATELY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START, CRANKING BUT NOT TURNING OVER. UPON INSPECTION, THE VEHICLE STARTED SUCCESSFULLY EVERY TIME DURING TESTING. A PENDING CODE FOR CYLINDER 4 (P0304) WAS PRESENT, INDICATING A POSSIBLE MISFIRE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ACTUALLY EXPERIENCING A MISFIRE AT THE TIME. DURING TESTING, ERRATIC BEHAVIOR WAS NOTED FROM THE IGNITION COIL. AS A PRECAUTION, THE IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG WERE REPLACED WITH USED PARTS AVAILABLE AT THE SHOP. FOLLOW-UP TESTING SHOWED NO ISSUES AFTER THIS SERVICE. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MOVE THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE IDLE DROPPED IMMEDIATELY, CAUSING THE CAR TO SHUT OFF. BASED ON THE SYMPTOMS, THE THROTTLE BODY IS SUSPECTED TO NEED CLEANING. ADDITIONALLY, THE PCV VALVE WAS INSPECTED AND FOUND TO BE IN POOR CONDITION AND REQUIRES REPLACEMENT.
    • REMOVE AND REPLACE PCV VALVE. THE PCV VALVE WAS PULLING ENGINE OIL, CAUSING THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL TO DROP, AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TO PREVENT FURTHER OIL LOSS AND POTENTIAL ENGINE DAMAGE.
    • DUE TO THE BAD PCV VALVE, THERE WAS A SIGNIFICANT BUILD-UP OF OIL AND DEPOSITS IN THE THROTTLE BODY, WHICH CAN AFFECT ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND IDLE. REMOVED AND THOROUGHLY CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY TO RESTORE PROPER AIRFLOW AND ENSURE SMOOTH ENGINE OPERATION.

    • CONNECTED A SCAN TOOL AND FOUND CODE P0340 – CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR "A" CIRCUIT (BANK 1 OR SINGLE SENSOR). PERFORMED A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR AND FOUND NO OBVIOUS FAULTS. AT IDLE, USED THE SCAN TOOL TO MONITOR LIVE DATA AND FOUND THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR SIGNAL PARAMETER WAS ERRATIC. AT IDLE, BACKPROBED THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR AND MONITORED THE SENSOR SIGNAL ON A LAB SCOPE. THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR SIGNAL OBSERVED ON THE LAB SCOPE WAS ERRATIC. THESE TEST RESULTS VERIFIED THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR WAS FAULTY. – Customer acknowledged notice and gave oral approval of additional estimated repairs. REMOVE AND REPLACE THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, ENSURING PROPER INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION OF ALL RELATED COMPONENTS. CLEAR ANY STORED TROUBLE CODES AND TEST THE VEHICLE TO CONFIRM ACCURATE SENSOR OPERATION AND PROPER ENGINE PERFORMANCE.

    • Confirmed the customer’s concern regarding coolant leakage from the top of the engine. Performed a visual inspection of the cooling system and topped off the coolant to proper levels. A cooling system pressure test was performed using a pressure tester, and it was noted that the system failed to retain pressure. Upon further inspection, external signs of coolant leakage were observed near the radiator area. All other fluid levels were also checked and verified to be at proper levels. After the initial inspection, the engine was started to observe operating conditions under normal temperature. During this process, radiator fluid was observed forcefully bursting out from the top of the radiator, which is a strong indication of combustion gases entering the cooling system. This, along with the distinct burnt odor coming from the expelled coolant, points to an internal engine issue—most likely a blown cylinder head gasket or damage to the cylinder head itself. Based on the combination of pressure loss, coolant expulsion, combustion intrusion, and the burnt smell, it was determined that the issue is internal to the cylinder head and requires further engine disassembly to confirm the full extent of the damage.

    • VEHICLE SERVICE: – CHANGE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER – TIRE INFLATION CHECK – BRAKE COMPONENT INSPECTION – ALL FLUID LEVEL CHECK – RESET MAINTENANCE COUNTER
    • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the HVAC blower motor was inoperative. Inspected the HVAC blower motor wiring harness and found no faults. Used a multi-meter to check for voltage at the HVAC blower motor and found voltage was present. Connected a test light in place of the HVAC blower motor, moved the blower motor switch throughout its range, and found the test light illuminated. This indicated the HVAC blower motor wiring and control circuits were functional. Used a set of fused jumper wires to apply voltage and ground to the HVAC blower motor and found the motor was inoperative. These test results verified the HVAC blower motor was faulty. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE BLOWER MOTOR. CAREFULLY REMOVE AND REPLACE THE BLOWER MOTOR WITH A NEW UNIT TO ENSURE PROPER FUNCTIONALITY OF THE VEHICLE'S CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM. REASSEMBLE ALL REMOVED COMPONENTS, VERIFYING PROPER FITMENT AND SECURE CONNECTIONS. MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS TO ENSURE OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE. PERFORM A SYSTEM TEST TO CONFIRM THE BLOWER MOTOR IS OPERATING CORRECTLY AND THAT ALL AFFECTED AREAS ARE FUNCTIONING AS INTENDED.
