Connected a scan tool and found code P0128 – Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature). Inspected the engine coolant level and condition, but found no faults. Ran the engine and used an infrared thermometer to measure the engine coolant temperature at the engine coolant thermostat housing inlet and outlet. The measured temperatures at the engine coolant thermostat housing inlet and outlet were identical but below the specified operating temperature, which indicated the engine coolant thermostat had opened. Removed the engine coolant thermostat and allowed it to reach room temperature. Visually inspected the thermostat and found it was stuck in the open position.
DRAIN COOLING SYSTEM. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE THERMOSTAT HOUSING WITH THE THERMOSTAT AND GASKET INCLUDED. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. ADD ANTI-FREEZE COOLANT AND TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.

Confirmed the customer’s concern and found there was a noise heard while driving in reverse. Performed a visual inspection under the hood of the vehicle and found the engine mounts and transmission mount were severely damaged. Performed a power brake test and noticed the engine and transmission were lurching, swaying off the mounts tremendously, and making a clunking noise. Used a pry bar to check for looseness in the engine mounts and transmission mount and found they were broken, which caused the engine and transmission to move excessively.
REMOVED ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS IN THE ENGINE BAY TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE MOUNT. REMOVED AND REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION MOUNT, RIGHT ENGINE MOUNT, AND ENGINE TORQUE ROD. ASSEMBLED ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS BACK TOGETHER AND MADE ALL REQUIRED ADJUSTMENTS. TESTED ALL AFFECTED AREAS TO ENSURE PROPER FUNCTIONING. CONDUCTED A COMPREHENSIVE INSPECTION TO VERIFY THERE ARE NO REMAINING VIBRATIONS OR OTHER ISSUES, ENSURING THE VEHICLE OPERATES SMOOTHLY AND EFFICIENTLY. ADDITIONALLY, CHECKED FOR ANY POTENTIAL INTERFERENCE OR MISALIGNMENT IN THE MOUNTING SYSTEM TO GUARANTEE LONG-TERM RELIABILITY.

Connected a scan tool and found code P0522 – Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Low. Performed an inspection of the engine oil level and condition and found it was at the proper level and clean. Performed a visual inspection of the engine oil pressure sensor wiring harness and found evidence of engine oil on the wiring harness was present. Disconnected the engine oil pressure sensor wiring harness connector, visually inspected the connector and terminals and found evidence of engine oil. Further inspection of the engine oil pressure sensor showed sign of engine oil inside the engine oil pressure sensor connector. Key on, used a fused jumper wire and tapped ground at the engine oil pressure sensor sense circuit in the engine oil pressure sensor harness connector and observed the oil pressure indicator changed, which indicated no circuit faults were present. Removed the engine oil pressure sensor, installed an oil pressure gauge, started the engine and performed an oil pressure test. Found the measured engine oil pressure was within the manufacturer’s specification. The results of these tests verified the engine oil pressure sensor was faulty. REMOVE AND REPLACE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.
