    • REMOVED AND REPLACED THE ENGINE AIR FILTER. THE OLD FILTER WAS DIRTY AND CLOGGED, WHICH CAN RESTRICT AIRFLOW TO THE ENGINE AND AFFECT PERFORMANCE, FUEL EFFICIENCY, AND EMISSIONS. INSTALLED A NEW FILTER TO HELP ENSURE OPTIMAL AIRFLOW, IMPROVE ENGINE EFFICIENCY, AND MAINTAIN PROPER COMBUSTION.
    • REMOVED AND REPLACED THE CABIN AIR FILTER. THE OLD FILTER WAS DIRTY AND RESTRICTED, WHICH CAN REDUCE AIRFLOW AND AFFECT THE EFFICIENCY OF THE HVAC SYSTEM. INSTALLED A NEW FILTER TO HELP MAINTAIN CLEAN AIR INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND ENSURE PROPER VENTILATION PERFORMANCE.

    Services Performed
    • Inspected the battery connectors and found that one of the clamps was loose. Replaced the clamp and retested the charging system. Upon testing, we found that the alternator is overcharging at 15.4 volts (normal range: 13–14 volts). Based on these findings, we determined that the alternator is defective and should be replaced under warranty.
    • Removed and replaced the defective alternator under warranty. Performed a charging system test after installation to ensure proper operation and voltage output.
    • REMOVED NECESSARY COMPONENTS TO GAIN ACCESS TO ALL CYLINDERS. REMOVED AND REPLACED ALL SIX SPARK PLUGS, AS WELL AS THE THREE IGNITION COILS LOCATED BENEATH THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THESE THREE COILS WERE REPLACED PROACTIVELY TO AVOID HAVING TO REMOVE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AGAIN IN THE FUTURE IN THE EVENT OF A MISFIRE. THE REMAINING THREE IGNITION COILS, WHICH ARE EASILY ACCESSIBLE, WERE LEFT IN PLACE, AS THEY CAN BE REPLACED WITHOUT MAJOR DISASSEMBLY IF THEY FAIL LATER. REASSEMBLED ALL REMOVED COMPONENTS, MADE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS, AND TESTED ALL AFFECTED AREAS TO ENSURE PROPER OPERATION.

    • DURING THE DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE, WE FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO POWER BEING SUPPLIED TO THE A/C COMPRESSOR. WE PERFORMED A THOROUGH INSPECTION OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, INCLUDING ALL RELATED WIRING HARNESSES, ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS, FUSES, AND RELAYS. THROUGH THIS PROCESS, WE DISCOVERED A SECTION OF THE WIRING HARNESS THAT HAD BEEN DAMAGED AND SHORTED OUT, WHICH WAS PREVENTING PROPER VOLTAGE FROM REACHING THE A/C COMPRESSOR. WE REPAIRED THE DAMAGED PORTION OF THE HARNESS USING THE FACTORY WIRING DIAGRAM TO ACCURATELY TRACE AND IDENTIFY EACH WIRE'S ROUTING AND FUNCTION. ONCE THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED, WE REASSEMBLED ALL PREVIOUSLY REMOVED COMPONENTS, SECURED THE HARNESS, AND RETESTED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. AFTER VERIFICATION, WE CONFIRMED THAT POWER IS NOW BEING PROPERLY DELIVERED TO THE A/C COMPRESSOR, INDICATING THAT THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY RESOLVED. FURTHER TESTING OF THE A/C SYSTEM CAN NOW BE PERFORMED TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR.
    • CONTINUED OUR DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE TO IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF THE A/C SYSTEM LEAK. WE BEGAN BY PRESSURIZING THE A/C SYSTEM WITH NITROGEN TO TEST FOR LEAKS AND OBSERVED THAT THE SYSTEM WAS UNABLE TO HOLD PRESSURE, CONFIRMING THE PRESENCE OF A SIGNIFICANT LEAK. WE THEN PERFORMED A DETAILED INSPECTION OF ALL MAJOR A/C COMPONENTS, INCLUDING LINES, FITTINGS, CONDENSER, EVAPORATOR, COMPRESSOR, AND VARIOUS CONNECTION POINTS. DURING THE INSPECTION, WE DISCOVERED OBVIOUS SIGNS OF REFRIGERANT LEAKAGE COMING FROM THE AREA AROUND THE A/C PRESSURE SWITCH, INCLUDING RESIDUAL DYE AND OIL TRACES. THIS INDICATES THAT THE A/C PRESSURE SWITCH IS THE LIKELY SOURCE OF THE LEAK. WE WILL RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE COMPONENT, FOLLOWED BY A SYSTEM EVACUATION, RECHARGE, AND FINAL LEAK TEST TO ENSURE FULL FUNCTIONALITY AND RELIABILITY OF THE A/C SYSTEM.
    • REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS TO GAIN PROPER ACCESS TO THE A/C PRESSURE SWITCH. SAFELY DISCHARGE ANY REMAINING REFRIGERANT FROM THE SYSTEM TO PREVENT DAMAGE OR INJURY. CAREFULLY REMOVE THE DEFECTIVE A/C PRESSURE SWITCH AND INSPECT THE MATING SURFACE AND CONNECTOR FOR ANY SIGNS OF DAMAGE OR CONTAMINATION. INSTALL A NEW A/C PRESSURE SWITCH, ENSURING A SECURE AND PROPER FIT. REASSEMBLE ALL PREVIOUSLY REMOVED COMPONENTS AND VERIFY THAT ALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS ARE PROPERLY SEATED. MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS TO ENSURE CORRECT INSTALLATION.
    • FLUSH THE ENTIRE A/C SYSTEM TO REMOVE ANY CONTAMINANTS, DEBRIS, OR RESIDUAL OIL THAT MAY BE PRESENT IN THE LINES OR COMPONENTS. THIS IS A CRITICAL STEP TO ENSURE THAT FOREIGN OBJECTS DO NOT CIRCULATE THROUGH THE SYSTEM AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO SENSITIVE COMPONENTS SUCH AS THE A/C COMPRESSOR, CONDENSER, OR EXPANSION VALVE. UTILIZE A PROFESSIONAL GRADE A/C FLUSHING SOLVENT AND COMPRESSED AIR TO THOROUGHLY CLEAN THE SYSTEM. FOCUS ON FLUSHING OUT EACH INDIVIDUAL LINE AND COMPONENT, ENSURING THAT FLOW IS CLEAR AND FREE OF OBSTRUCTION. INSPECT FOR ANY SIGNS OF EXCESSIVE CONTAMINATION DURING THE FLUSHING PROCESS. AFTER THE FLUSH IS COMPLETE, ALLOW THE SYSTEM TO FULLY DRY, THEN REASSEMBLE ALL COMPONENTS USING NEW SEALS OR O-RINGS AS NEEDED. FOLLOW UP WITH A VACUUM PROCEDURE TO REMOVE ANY REMAINING MOISTURE, AND THEN RECHARGE THE SYSTEM WITH THE CORRECT TYPE AND AMOUNT OF REFRIGERANT. VERIFY SYSTEM PERFORMANCE AND ENSURE ALL COMPONENTS ARE OPERATING EFFICIENTLY AND FREE OF DEBRIS.
    • PERFORM A VACUUM PROCEDURE TO REMOVE ANY MOISTURE OR AIR FROM THE SYSTEM. RECHARGE THE SYSTEM WITH THE CORRECT TYPE AND AMOUNT OF REFRIGERANT. TEST SYSTEM OPERATION AND VERIFY THAT THE REPLACEMENT HAS RESOLVED THE ISSUE AND THAT THERE ARE NO FURTHER LEAKS PRESENT.

    • CONFIRMED CUSTOMER'S CONCERN THAT THE A/C WAS NOT BLOWING COLD AIR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. NOTED THAT WE HAD PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED ONE OF THE A/C FLAP ACTUATORS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. REMOVED ALL NECESSARY COVERS TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE ACTUATOR AND INSPECTED THE SYSTEM. UPON INSPECTION, FOUND THAT THE ACTUATOR ITSELF IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY; HOWEVER, THE ISSUE IS WITH THE ATTACHMENT POINT ON THE A/C EVAPORATOR/HEATER CORE HOUSING BOX WHERE THE ACTUATOR CONNECTS — THIS CONNECTION POINT IS DAMAGED AND NO LONGER SECURE. THIS IS A CONCERN WE HAD PREVIOUSLY IDENTIFIED AND DISCUSSED WITH THE CUSTOMER. TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE, WE CAREFULLY APPLIED A HIGH-STRENGTH ADHESIVE TO SECURE THE AIR FLAP ACTUATOR TO THE HOUSING BOX. AT THIS TIME, THE ACTUATOR IS FIRMLY ATTACHED, AND THE A/C IS NOW BLOWING COLD AIR PROPERLY FROM BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES. HOWEVER, THIS IS CONSIDERED A TEMPORARY REPAIR, AS THE ONLY PERMANENT SOLUTION WOULD INVOLVE REPLACING THE ENTIRE A/C EVAPORATOR/HEATER CORE HOUSING UNIT, WHICH REQUIRES FULL DASHBOARD REMOVAL AND IS A SIGNIFICANTLY MORE COSTLY REPAIR. WE RECOMMEND THE CUSTOMER MONITOR THE SYSTEM OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS TO SEE IF THE REPAIR HOLDS. IF THE ISSUE RETURNS, FURTHER REPAIRS MAY BE NECESSARY.

    • The customer arrived with the temperature gauge reading at maximum hot. After allowing the engine to cool, we inspected the coolant level and found it to be within the proper range. A pressure test was performed, and no leaks were detected. We then ran the vehicle to evaluate the cooling system, including fan operation and thermostat functionality. During testing, all components functioned normally, and we were unable to identify any definitive issues at this time. We advised the customer that, as a proactive first step, replacing both thermostats and the coolant temperature sensor is recommended, especially considering the vehicle's age and the extended time since these components were last serviced.
    • DRAIN COOLING SYSTEM. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE ENGINE COOLANT THERMOSTAT AND GASKET. REASSEMBLE ALL COMPONENTS AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS.
    • REMOVE AND REPLACE WATER OUTLET THERMOSTAT AND GASKET. REASSEMBLE ALL COMPONENTS AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS.
    • REMOVE AND REPLACE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR. REASSEMBLE ALL COMPONENTS AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS.

    • Connected a scan tool and found code P0101 – Mass or Volume Air Flow "A" Circuit Range/Performance. At idle, used the scan tool to monitor the live data and found the mass airflow (MAF) sensor parameter was below specifications. Snapped the throttle while the MAF sensor was monitored on the scan tool and observed the MAF sensor did not increase to the specified range. Inspected the air inlet tube and the air intake system for leaks, but found no obvious faults. Using a smoke machine, induced smoke into the intake system to check for leaks, but no leaks were detected. Removed the MAF sensor for inspection, visually inspected the sensor's sensing element and found no obvious faults. Inspected the MAF sensor harness and connector and found no visible faults. Key on, used a multi-meter to check for the presence of the reference voltage and the signal ground and found both were present. At idle, backprobed the MAF sensor signal wire and monitored the sensor signal on a lab scope. Snapped the throttle and observed the MAF sensor signal was below the specification and did not increase at the specified rate. With the engine idling, monitored the MAF sensor on the scan tool, wiggled the MAF sensor and the engine wiring harnesses and observed no change in the MAF sensor parameter. The results of these tests verified the MAF sensor was faulty.
    • REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR AS WELL AS THE ENGINE AIR FILTER. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.
