    • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found drive belt had broken off. Also engine coolant leaked from the vehicle. Inspected the engine coolant level and condition and found the engine coolant level was low. Filled the engine coolant to the proper operating level and continued diagnosing the vehicle. Connected an engine coolant pressure tester to the radiator and applied pressure to the engine cooling system. Inspected the engine cooling system and found engine coolant leaked from the engine water pump. Also check water pump and found that the pulley has seized. Will need to have water pump and drive belt replaced.
    • DRAIN COOLING SYSTEM. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE WATER PUMP, WATER PUMP GASKET, AND DRIVE BELT. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. ADD ANTI-FREEZE COOLANT AND TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.

    • Connected a scan tool and found code P0128 – Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature). At idle, monitored live scan tool data and observed the engine coolant temperature sensor parameter did not increase to the minimum specified operating temperature. Using a non-contact pyrometer, measured the actual engine coolant temperature at the engine coolant thermostat housing inlet and outlet and found the actual engine coolant temperature was consistent with the reading on the scan tool. Inspection revealed the engine coolant thermostat was stuck in the open position.
    • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the right front door lock was inoperative. Removed the right front door panel, inspected the wiring and connections leading into the door, and found no faults. Found the right front door lock operated manually, which indicated the linkages were functioning properly. Accessed the right front door lock actuator, disconnected the door lock actuator connector, and connected a multi-meter to the right front door lock actuator connector. Key on, engine off, operated the right front power door lock switch, and found voltage and ground were present at the right front door lock actuator connector. Used a set of fused jumper wires to apply voltage and ground to the right front door lock actuator and found the actuator was inoperative. The result of these tests verified the right front door lock actuator was faulty.
    • REMOVE AND REPLACE THERMOSTAT AND GASKET
    • REMOVE AND REPLACE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ON THE FRONT RIGHT

    • Confirmed customer complaint and found that the accelerator is erratic. With the key on, engine off, monitored the live scan tool data and observed the accelerator pedal position sensor parameter was not within the specified range. Inspected the accelerator pedal position sensor wiring harness and connector, but detected no obvious faults. Performed a throttle sweep, monitored the accelerator pedal position sensor signal parameters using the scan tool, and found the accelerator pedal position sensor signal parameters did not maintain the specified correlation as the throttle was swept. These test results verified the accelerator pedal position sensor was faulty. – Customer acknowledged notice and gave oral approval of estimated repairs. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.

    • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the engine did not start. Inspected the ignition system and the air intake system, but found no concerns. Inspected the engine coolant level and condition and found the engine coolant level was low. Filled the engine coolant to the proper operating level and continued diagnosing the vehicle. Connected an engine coolant pressure tester to the radiator and pressurized the engine cooling system to check for leaks. Inspected the engine cooling system and did not find a leak, but the engine coolant pressure tester reading indicated a leak was present. Removed the engine coolant pressure tester from the radiator, used a gas analyzer to check for the presence of hydrocarbons at the radiator filler neck and found hydrocarbons were present. Removed the spark plugs for inspection and found the spark plugs were contaminated with engine coolant. Rand a compression test and there was no compression in the cylinders. Internal problem with this engine. Will need to have cylinder head gasket replaced or possibly the engine.
