    • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found engine coolant leaked from the vehicle. Inspected the engine coolant and found the engine coolant level was low. Filled the engine coolant to the proper operating level, attached a pressure tester to the engine cooling system and pressurized the system to check for leaks. The engine cooling system did not retain the applied pressure, which indicated an engine coolant leak was present. Continued to apply pressure to the engine cooling system, inspected the system for signs of an external engine coolant leak and found the radiator hose had leaked.
    • REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.
    • REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE LOWER RADIATOR HOSE. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS.

    • Connected a scan tool and found code P0440 – Evaporative Emission System. Performed a visual inspection of the evaporative emission (EVAP) system to check for any signs of damage, but found no obvious faults. Connected a smoke machine to the EVAP system test port and induced smoke into the EVAP system to check for leaks. Used the scan tool to command the EVAP purge solenoid valve and the EVAP canister vent solenoid closed for the smoke test and found no signs of smoke, which indicated no external leaks were present. Continued to inspect the EVAP system by removing the vacuum source hose from the EVAP purge solenoid valve and observed smoke emitted from the EVAP purge solenoid valve, which indicated it leaked. Attached a vacuum pump to the EVAP purge solenoid valve and tested the valve by applying vacuum. The EVAP purge solenoid valve leaked and did not retain the applied vacuum.
    • REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE PURGE VALVE. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.

    • Oil Condition Sensor. Performed a road test while monitoring live scan tool data and observed the engine oil level sensor parameter was below specifications. With the engine off, performed an inspection of the oil level using the engine oil dipstick and found the engine oil level was within the specified range. Inspected the engine oil level sensor wiring harness and connector, but detected no obvious faults. Used a multi-meter to check for the presence of voltage and ground at the engine oil level sensor and found both were present. Used a lab scope to backprobe the engine oil level sensor signal wire and observed the engine oil level sensor signal was not present.
