- Connected a scan tool and found code P0128 – Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature). At idle, monitored live scan tool data and observed the engine coolant temperature sensor parameter did not increase to the minimum specified operating temperature. Using a non-contact pyrometer, measured the actual engine coolant temperature at the engine coolant thermostat housing inlet and outlet and found the actual engine coolant temperature was consistent with the reading on the scan tool. Inspection revealed the engine coolant thermostat was stuck in the open position.
- Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the right front door lock was inoperative. Removed the right front door panel, inspected the wiring and connections leading into the door, and found no faults. Found the right front door lock operated manually, which indicated the linkages were functioning properly. Accessed the right front door lock actuator, disconnected the door lock actuator connector, and connected a multi-meter to the right front door lock actuator connector. Key on, engine off, operated the right front power door lock switch, and found voltage and ground were present at the right front door lock actuator connector. Used a set of fused jumper wires to apply voltage and ground to the right front door lock actuator and found the actuator was inoperative. The result of these tests verified the right front door lock actuator was faulty.
