Confirmed the customer's concern and found an unusual noise came from under the hood while the engine was running. At idle, isolated the noise to the engine accessory drive belt area. Used an electronic stethoscope and further isolated the noise to the alternator. With the engine off, removed the engine accessory drive belt, rotated the alternator pulley by hand and found the alternator did not rotate smoothly. Upon further inspection, found radial movement in the alternator, which indicated the bearings were defective. The bearings are integrated into the alternator and are replaced as an entire unit. Also drive belt doesn't look good and needs to be replaced. We can replace it during the repair.
MAKE SURE ALL WIRES ARE INSERTED INTO PROPER CAVITIES. RE-ASSEMBLE BACK TOGETHER. CONNECT BATTERY. MAKE SURE ALL OTHER WIRES ARE HARNESSED PROPERLY. TEST ALL AFFECTED SYSTEM.

Confirmed the customer's complaint and found there was a squealing noise from the engine. Started the vehicle and used an electronic stethoscope to pinpoint the source of the noise to the drive belt. Removed the drive belt, performed an inspection of the drive pulleys, but found no concerns. Performed an inspection of the drive belt and found the belt was cracked, which caused the belt to make noise.
