    • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the air conditioning was inoperative at idle. Inspected the air conditioning system with the engine at idle and found the engine cooling fan did not operate. With the key on, engine off, used a multi-meter to check for voltage and ground at the engine cooling fan and found both were present. Used a set of fused jumper wires to apply voltage and ground to the engine cooling fan and found the fan did not respond. These test results verified the engine cooling fan was faulty.
    • REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE ENGINE COOLING FAN. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS.

    • Connected a scan tool and found code P0155 – O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 2 Sensor 1) and found code P0134 – O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 1). . Performed a road test while monitoring live scan tool data and observed the oxygen sensor (B2-S1) parameter was erratic. Inspected the oxygen sensor (B2-S1) wiring harness and connector and detected no obvious faults. With the ignition on and the engine off, used a multi-meter to check for the presence of voltage and ground at the oxygen sensor (B2-S1) connector and found both were present. Using the multi-meter, checked for continuity of the oxygen sensor (B2-S1) and found continuity was not present, indicating the oxygen sensor (B2-S1) was faulty. Also performed a road test while monitoring live scan tool data and observed the oxygen sensor (B1-S1) parameter was erratic. Inspected the oxygen sensor (B1-S1) wiring harness and connector, but detected no obvious faults. With the ignition on and the engine off, used a multi-meter to check for the presence of voltage and ground at the oxygen sensor (B1-S1) connector and found both were present. Using the multi-meter, checked for continuity of the oxygen sensor (B1-S1) and found continuity was not present, indicating the oxygen sensor (B1-S1) was faulty.

    • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found engine coolant leaked from the vehicle. Visually inspected the engine coolant level and found it was below the minimum operating level. Inspected the engine cooling system for signs of damage and observed no evidence of any obvious faults. Filled the engine coolant to the proper operating level, attached a cooling system pressure tester to the engine cooling system and pressurized the system to check for leaks. The engine cooling system did not retain the applied pressure, which indicated an engine coolant leak was present. Continued to apply pressure to the engine cooling system, inspected the system for signs of an external engine coolant leak and found the engine water pump had leaked. The results of these tests verified the engine water pump was faulty.
    • DRAIN COOLING SYSTEM. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE WATER PUMP, WATER PUMP GASKET, THERMOSTAT, AND THERMOSTAT GASKET. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. ADD ANTI-FREEZE COOLANT. TEST ALL AFFECTED AREAS.
