    • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found engine coolant leaked from the vehicle. Inspected the engine coolant and found the engine coolant level was low. Filled the engine coolant to the proper operating level, attached a pressure tester to the engine cooling system and pressurized the system to check for leaks. The engine cooling system did not retain the applied pressure, which indicated an engine coolant leak was present. Continued to apply pressure to the engine cooling system, inspected the system for signs of an external engine coolant leak and found the radiator hose had leaked.

    • Confirmed the customer’s concern and found the instrument panel was inoperative. Visually inspected the instrument cluster wiring harness and found no obvious signs of damage. Used a multi-meter to test for power at the instrument cluster, and confirmed that power was present at the instrument cluster. Performed a visual inspection of the instrument cluster and found the instrument cluster did not show any signs of damge. Clean connectors and assembled back together and the cluster started to work again however it was intermittent. Informed customer that its very possible that the problem is within the cluster itself. That would be the first step, to remove and replace the cluster.

    • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the engine did not start. Performed a visual inspection of the battery and battery terminals, but found no obvious faults. Used a multi-meter to measure the voltage across the battery terminals and found the measured voltage was within the specified range of 12.4-12.6 volts. Used a battery conductance tester to test the battery and found the battery was able to conduct the specified amount of current, which verified it operated properly. Used the multi-meter to test for battery voltage and ground at the starter motor and found both the specified 12 volts and ground were present. Used the multi-meter to test for voltage at the starter motor solenoid terminal while switching the ignition to the start position, and found 12 volts was present. These test results verified the starter motor was faulty.

    • Connected a scan tool and found code P0520 – Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit. Performed an inspection of the engine oil level and condition and found it was at the proper level and clean. Performed a visual inspection of the engine oil pressure sending unit wiring harness and found evidence of engine oil on the wiring harness was present. Disconnected the engine oil pressure sending unit wiring harness connector, visually inspected the connector and terminals and found evidence of engine oil. Further inspection of the engine oil pressure sending unit showed sign of engine oil inside the engine oil pressure sending unit connector. Key on, used a fused jumper wire and tapped ground at the engine oil pressure sending unit sense circuit in the engine oil pressure sending unit harness connector and observed the engine oil pressure indicator changed, which indicated no circuit faults were present. Found the measured engine oil pressure was within the manufacturer’s specification. The results of these tests verified the engine oil pressure sending unit was faulty. There is also signs of oil leak from the oil cooler housing which the oil pressure sender mounts on too which will also need to be replaced.
