    • Confirmed the customer's concern and observed engine coolant leaked from under the vehicle. Visually inspected the vehicle’s engine coolant level and found it was below the minimum level. Filled the engine coolant to the proper operating level, attached the pressure tester to the engine cooling system, and pressurized the system to check for leaks. The engine cooling system did not retain the applied pressure, which indicated an engine coolant leak was present. Continued to apply pressure to the engine cooling system, inspected the system for signs of an external engine coolant leak, and found the heater hose connector and thermostat housing had leaked.
    • REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE HEATER HOSE CONNECTOR AND THERMOSTAT HOUSING. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKEA LL NECESSARY ADJSUTMENTS.

Used a multi-meter to measure the voltage across the battery terminals and found the measured voltage was below the specified range. Charged the battery and continued the diagnosis. Used a battery conductance tester to test the battery and found the battery was unable to conduct the specified amount of current, which verified the battery was defective.

    • Confirmed the customer's concern and found the engine stalled. Using a multi-meter, measured voltage across the battery terminals and found voltage was below the specified range. Charged the battery, used a battery conductance tester to test the battery, and found the battery was able to conduct the specified amount of current. With the engine at idle, measured voltage across the battery terminals and found voltage decreased. Performed an inspection of the alternator wiring harness and connector, but detected no obvious faults. Used an alternator load tester to test the alternator by placing the battery under load, raised the engine speed to 1,500 RPM and found the measured alternator output was below the specified minimum amperage. These test results verified the alternator was faulty.
    • MAKE SURE ALL WIRES ARE INSERTED INTO PROPER CAVITIES. RE-ASSEMBLE BACK TOGETHER. CONNECT BATTERY. MAKE SURE ALL OTHER WIRES ARE HARNESSED PROPERLY. TEST ALL AFFECTED SYSTEM.

    • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the battery light was on. Inspected the ignition system and the air intake system, but found no concerns. Used a multi-meter to check the battery state of charge and found the measured battery voltage was below specifications. Used a battery charger to charge the battery and used a battery conductance tester to test the battery. The battery was able to conduct the specified amount of current, which indicated the battery operated properly. Used the multi-meter to monitor the charging system voltage with the engine at idle and found the charging system voltage was below specifications. These test results verified the alternator was faulty. Confirmed the customer's complaint and heard an unusual noise from the engine. Found the noise became louder as engine speed was increased. Engine idling, used an electronic stethoscope to confirm the noise was coming from inside the timing belt cover. Removed the drive belts and timing belt cover. Started the engine and used the electronic stethoscope to isolate the noise to the engine water pump.
    • DRAIN COOLANT. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS. REMOVE AND REPLACE WATER PUMP AND WATER PUMP GASKET. ASSEMBLE TOGETHER AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS.
    • MAKE SURE ALL WIRES ARE INSERTED INTO PROPER CAVITIES. RE-ASSEMBLE BACK TOGETHER. CONNECT BATTERY. MAKE SURE ALL OTHER WIRES ARE HARNESSED PROPERLY. TEST ALL AFFECTED SYSTEM.
