    • Verified the customer’s concern and confirmed that coolant is leaking from the bottom of the engine. Upon inspection, the coolant level was found to be low, so it was topped off to the proper level. A cooling system pressure test was performed by applying pressure to the system. The system failed to retain pressure, confirming an external coolant leak. A detailed inspection revealed that the coolant is leaking from an area beneath the intake manifold. However, the exact source of the leak could not be determined due to limited visibility. In order to properly identify the origin of the leak, the intake manifold must be removed for further inspection. Based on prior experience with this engine type, the most likely cause is a failure of the oil cooler housing, which is a known issue. The exact cause will be confirmed once disassembly is performed and the affected area is fully exposed. Further recommendations will follow once the component has been accessed.
    • REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS TO GAIN FULL ACCESS TO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. CAREFULLY REMOVE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND RELATED HARDWARE TO EXPOSE THE SOURCE OF THE COOLANT LEAK. AFTER THOROUGH INSPECTION, IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE OIL COOLER HOUSING HAS FAILED AND IS THE SOURCE OF THE COOLANT LEAK. PROCEEDED TO REMOVE THE DAMAGED OIL COOLER HOUSING AND REPLACED IT WITH A NEW UNIT. CLEANED ALL MATING SURFACES, INSTALLED NEW GASKETS AND SEALS WHERE REQUIRED, AND REASSEMBLED ALL COMPONENTS BACK TO FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS. ONCE REASSEMBLY WAS COMPLETE, FILLED THE SYSTEM WITH THE PROPER MIXTURE OF ANTIFREEZE COOLANT AND PURGED ANY AIR FROM THE SYSTEM. FINALIZED THE REPAIR BY TESTING ALL AFFECTED AREAS FOR LEAKS AND VERIFIED PROPER OPERATION OF THE COOLING SYSTEM.

REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE PADS WITH NEW HIGH-QUALITY PADS TO PROMOTE EVEN WEAR AND QUIET OPERATION. INSPECTED ASSOCIATED COMPONENTS FOR WEAR OR DAMAGE DURING THE PROCESS. AFTER INSTALLING THE NEW BRAKE COMPONENTS, PROPERLY ASSEMBLED EVERYTHING BACK TOGETHER, TORQUED ALL HARDWARE TO SPECIFICATIONS, AND ENSURED THAT ALL AFFECTED AREAS WERE SECURE AND FUNCTIONING AS INTENDED. COMPLETED A FINAL CHECK TO VERIFY SMOOTH BRAKE OPERATION.
    • CLEAN AND INSPECT THE REAR BRAKE SHOE SYSTEM FOR WEAR AND CONTAMINATION. REMOVE BRAKE DRUMS AND CLEAN ALL BRAKE COMPONENTS, INCLUDING THE BACKING PLATE, SHOES, SPRINGS, AND ADJUSTERS. REASSEMBLE AND PROPERLY ADJUST THE REAR BRAKE SHOES TO ENSURE EVEN CONTACT AND OPTIMAL BRAKING PERFORMANCE. TEST THE BRAKE SYSTEM FOR PROPER OPERATION AFTER COMPLETION.

    • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the HVAC blower motor was inoperative. Inspected the HVAC blower motor wiring harness and found no faults. Used a multi-meter to check for voltage at the HVAC blower motor and found voltage was present. Connected a test light in place of the HVAC blower motor, moved the blower motor switch throughout its range, and found the test light illuminated. This indicated the HVAC blower motor wiring and control circuits were functional. Used a set of fused jumper wires to apply voltage and ground to the HVAC blower motor and found the motor was inoperative. These test results verified the HVAC blower motor was faulty. REMOVE ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE BLOWER MOTOR. CAREFULLY REMOVE AND REPLACE THE BLOWER MOTOR WITH A NEW UNIT TO ENSURE PROPER FUNCTIONALITY OF THE VEHICLE'S CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM. REASSEMBLE ALL REMOVED COMPONENTS, VERIFYING PROPER FITMENT AND SECURE CONNECTIONS. MAKE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS TO ENSURE OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE. PERFORM A SYSTEM TEST TO CONFIRM THE BLOWER MOTOR IS OPERATING CORRECTLY AND THAT ALL AFFECTED AREAS ARE FUNCTIONING AS INTENDED.

    • CONFIRMED CUSTOMER'S CONCERN THAT THE A/C WAS NOT BLOWING COLD AIR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. NOTED THAT WE HAD PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED ONE OF THE A/C FLAP ACTUATORS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. REMOVED ALL NECESSARY COVERS TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE ACTUATOR AND INSPECTED THE SYSTEM. UPON INSPECTION, FOUND THAT THE ACTUATOR ITSELF IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY; HOWEVER, THE ISSUE IS WITH THE ATTACHMENT POINT ON THE A/C EVAPORATOR/HEATER CORE HOUSING BOX WHERE THE ACTUATOR CONNECTS — THIS CONNECTION POINT IS DAMAGED AND NO LONGER SECURE. THIS IS A CONCERN WE HAD PREVIOUSLY IDENTIFIED AND DISCUSSED WITH THE CUSTOMER. TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE, WE CAREFULLY APPLIED A HIGH-STRENGTH ADHESIVE TO SECURE THE AIR FLAP ACTUATOR TO THE HOUSING BOX. AT THIS TIME, THE ACTUATOR IS FIRMLY ATTACHED, AND THE A/C IS NOW BLOWING COLD AIR PROPERLY FROM BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES. HOWEVER, THIS IS CONSIDERED A TEMPORARY REPAIR, AS THE ONLY PERMANENT SOLUTION WOULD INVOLVE REPLACING THE ENTIRE A/C EVAPORATOR/HEATER CORE HOUSING UNIT, WHICH REQUIRES FULL DASHBOARD REMOVAL AND IS A SIGNIFICANTLY MORE COSTLY REPAIR. WE RECOMMEND THE CUSTOMER MONITOR THE SYSTEM OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS TO SEE IF THE REPAIR HOLDS. IF THE ISSUE RETURNS, FURTHER REPAIRS MAY BE NECESSARY.

    • Confirmed the customer's complaint and found the air conditioning was not cooling the vehicle properly. With the engine running, observed the air conditioning compressor and found the air conditioning compressor was engaged. Used an air conditioning manifold gauge set to measure the pressures in the air conditioning system and found the pressures were within specifications. From inside the vehicle, found cold air was present at the heating/ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC) outlets but noticed the HVAC blower motor was inoperative regardless of the fan control switch position. Accessed the HVAC blower motor connector, used a multi-meter to check for voltage and ground with the fan switch and ignition switched on and found both were present. Disconnected the HVAC blower motor connector, inspected the terminals on the connector and the HVAC blower motor but found no faults. Used the multi-meter to measure the resistance of the HVAC blower motor and found the motor had no continuity. The results of these tests verified the HVAC blower motor was faulty. – Customer acknowledged notice and gave oral approval of estimated repairs. REMOVED ALL NECESSARY COMPONENTS AND COVERS TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE FRONT BLOWER MOTOR. REMOVED AND REPLACED THE FRONT BLOWER MOTOR WITH A NEW UNIT. REASSEMBLED ALL COMPONENTS, MADE ALL NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS, AND ENSURED PROPER FITMENT. PERFORMED FUNCTIONAL TESTING TO VERIFY PROPER OPERATION OF THE BLOWER MOTOR AND ALL AFFECTED SYSTEMS.
